I had a penpal in Czechoslovakia, just before the trouble over there, I never found out what happened to him. His name was Ladislav, nice chap lived in Bratislava and looked a bit like Frankie Vaughn

I won a visit to the Albert Hall for a Classic FM concert for two, with a one night stay at an hotel and our train fares paid for. Just for getting an answer right on Classic FM. Unfortunately the concert was cancelled due to a fire in the basement at the Albert Hall but I did get more tickets and another hotel stay and fares paid, for their next concert. I took one of my daughters, and it was very enjoyable.

I won a dictionary online a few years back.
But they wouldn't send it to me, because of the cost of shipping to Canada.
(Never said Canadians couldn't enter).

I won flights to Copenhagen. Only trouble, there was so many restrictions on when I could book, I never went.

Don't all retire early on your winnings then.

I once won a big chocolate Easter egg in the school raffle, about five million kids followed me all the way home looking a bit of the egg, It was like that scene in ’The African Queen’ when all the natives followed Bogart through the Village waiting for him to throw away his fag end. I ended up with nothing when I got home, not even the straw basket it came in, wouldn’t surprise me if one of the kids had eaten that too, oh those barefoot days.
