Re: Poorly dog mystery.

What a fabulous photo, Mups. I love Bedlingtons - they always look as though they are laughing at life ! I do hope Izzy is better soon.

Re: Poorly dog mystery.

Toad could well be the problem Mups, ours are not the most toxic but would release their toxin if Izzie had caught one in her mouth.

Re: Poorly dog mystery.

Mups toad could be the answer but wondered if she has come into contact with any plants that might do this Elsie got quite a burn a while ago from some plants along the canal bank, I'm told it's worse if they get it on noses or tongues, I see the canal society has roped it off and are pulling it all up at the moment.

The vet already knows, I told him when she went back to see him on Saturday morning. He thought the 'stinging' from the toad would have been gone before now.
As I said earlier, I gave her milk quickly as it calms it and stops the frothing almost immediately. She was able to eat normally the day after the Mr. Toad episode too, so highly unlikely to stop her eating 3 days later.
I am fairly convinced it was something that happened at the veterinary surgery.

You may well be right, I wonder how stressed she was ? It's amazing how stress can make a dog react worse to small injuries or even bacterias.

Hope Izzy is on the mend now, Mups. She couldn't have a better 'mum'.

Re: Poorly dog mystery.

Hi Ania, thanks for that.
I'm still not happy with her though, I think I'm going to have to take her back and let him have another look, as she seems far too wet round her mouth again today.
