Re: Grandchildren Presents

If you feel you need to give something what about one of those adoption things where they can adopt a snow leopard, panda etc.
I believe they're get a certificate and news about them, some even give a cuddly toy of the animal they adopt.
The cost goes to the charity too.

The Post Office gift card One4all is amazing.

For picky teenagers especially, as it can be spent almost anywhere, online too. And it's not as crude as money, if you know what I mean.

A couple of my grandsons ( 14 and 12) asked for nothing for themselves last Christmas, but money for a charity they were supporting. I am very proud of them.

Re: Grandchildren Presents

Hi

I have no Grandkids of my own, I do however have 4 pretend Grandkids.

Two live in Poland, easy to buy for.

The other two live in the UK,an 8 year old with Autism and his little sister aged 6.

She is a very smart Cookie, frighteningly so.

They both want a dog, in particular a Bedlington, courtesy of Mups.

The 8 year old boy has started talking and making great progress since he saw the picture of Mups dog at the table.

Little sister is fiercely supportive of him, they both want a Bedlington.

Mum and Dad both work, so it is a problem.

They both want money for Christmas, but Nadi, the six year old wants her own way.

If I give them both cash, which is what they want, as they really want enough to buy a Bedlington, Mum and Dad will put any paper money in their Bank Accounts.

So, Nadia has asked for £20 in coins for both of them, so they can buy a Bedlington and keep it at my house, they can come everyday to play with it and walk it.

Outwitted by a six year old.

Re: Grandchildren Presents

I think the girls would like clothes - but it's safest to let them pick their own.
I take Taylor (age 10) birthday/Christmas shopping about 2 months before the actual event. She gets to chose what she likes and then I put them away until the event.

With there being a long gap in between the buying & giving it's exciting for her because she usually forgets what she's chosen...

You may "spoil" my Christmas with cash any time you like, dear.
But my expectations might be a bit different from the kids - 5 figures, at least.

That's greedy Pummy. I will settle for just 4 figures Julie.
