Hey you'll never guess what?Some woman rang me yesterday from the 'Visit Belfast' tourist office and asked if I would like a trip to Belfast in a top hotel. She said I was the fifteenth person they had contacted because all the others just stuck the phone down.....
Only joking Barry, and bad luck.....but I would have done the same as you....

Oh, Barry, l'm sorry about that. I would have reacted the same as you. It's a shame that they didn't ring you back or convince you that it was genuine and not a scam.If it was me, I would contact the company and plead innocence and appeal to their sympathetic nature. It's no skin off their nose, they must be able to negotiate lots of breaks!

Barry, l keep thinking about this! You won that holiday, fair and square and are entitled to your prize. I think they were a bit premature in awarding the holiday to another person.If it were me, l would contact the principle/person in charge and explain what happened and that they should have rung you back or put it in writing.

I emailed the Tourist Office in Belfast last night as I said in post #19, not expecting to be awarded the prize as that's long gone, but just to tell them the circumstances so they can perhaps do it differently next time.At least in future I can't complain that I never win anything......

Ahhhh - the Europa Hotel on Great Victoria street, and just across the road - the 'Crown' pub. Just down the side street beside the 'Crown' and round the corner is another 'good' pub - the Fibber Magee, some lovely Irish music in there - a good craic!!!|
