Yes we do some jobs I'm told even need breathing apparatus, degreasing large machinery you have to get inside of for instance.

Re: Banning Beards

Despicable!
Sorry, I've been talking to a fellow Steampunk lady who was buying a corset off me, about Dating Sites, she had some tales!
Surely they can get masks to fit over beards, lots of Cyber/Steampunk gentlemen seem to make their own.
If the beard is protected by a mask of sufficient size they wouldn't get harmful chemicals or dust trapped in it!
I may have to start a campaign!

Re: Banning Beards

Beards have been very popular since the success of Islamic State. And not just with Muslims, of course. Check out many professional footballers.

Re: Banning Beards

Beards are ghastly !
Dirty things that collect food scraps .
Prickly too in more intimate moments .
Definitely ban them .
Especially for religious reasons.

Re: Banning Beards

Snipped from the Daily Mail article yesterday:

"The union's regional official for London, Mark Soave, said: 'The arrogance of Mears is hair-raising. This is a highly delicate issue, which has huge cultural, religious and personal issues and where sensitivity should be the watchword. Instead members have been handed a decree from on high.
'This is clearly a case of Mears going for the cheapest option and amounts to "penny pinching stupidity". Other forms of masks are available and these should be offered to existing workers."

Re: Banning Beards

My father had a most wonderful and beautifully kept beard. It was washed trimmed and groomed every day.

I think banning some and not others is just silly if there is a ban for safety reasons it should apply across the board.

Much the same with crash helmets except for sikh's, sorry but if they dont want to wear a helmet they should take the bus!
