Re: Finger nails

If have always bitten my nails since childhood, so have no idea how long it takes them to grow.

Re: Finger nails

Mine are always covered in nail polish so hard to tell if they are thicker or not, especially if one breaks and I have to put a false nail on. I do know my toe nails are getting thicker, almost need a chain saw to cut them these days.

Re: Finger nails

I find I have to cut my finger nails every week, but what I don't understand is why the nails on my left hand always appear to grow faster than the nails on my right hand.

Re: Finger nails

My toe nails are awful, really tough and sharp so if I forget to cut them they slash holes in my socks

As for finger nails....I have one that splits all the time so it has to be kept short. My thumb nails I usually allow to get long because they're good for scraping things like random paint marks and stuff

Problem with letting them get long is when they break it's usually right down in the quick and then it's sore

It could be differences in circulation Clumsy. The toe nails on my left foot grow quicker than on my right. I had varicose veins removed from my right leg.

I also found that light has an effect on the speed at which nails grow. I cut my finger nails twice to every once of my toenails. But in the summer when I'm walking around in open toe sandals (like Jesus did) they both grow at the same rate.

Bless you my child.....

Nails do grow quicker in warmer climates, so maybe the sun helps.
I am very right handed and my right nails were always shorter that the left UNTIL I broke my right wrist and had to use the left hand more...... but I can't offer any scientific reason.

I suppose it makes sense, if we use our right hand more, we must wear the nails down more.
