Re: The Rain

Heavy rain for 48 hours. The stream is overflowing and the surrounding meadows are flooded because the lazy farmer can't be bothered to clean out his ditches and the debis from the stream which includes half a dead sheep and branches he randomly lopped of one hedges for no good reason

Coming from farming stock it makes me so angry when I see lazy and bad farming practices taking place.

The council are no better, they no longer carry out winter ditching.

Re: The Rain

Hi

The rain has stopped for a while, but more forecast.

The following link has a photo of the Spar and Subway less than a mile from my house.

We are now marooned in my little part of Shrewsbury.

The main river is on the rise, it is already 3.1m up at the gauge, it takes a couple of days to really rise as it comes from the Welsh Hills.

It is the local rain which is causing the problems, the brook has already topped it's banks, the road drains cannot cope. I have standing water on my garden and getting into town is a no no.

It is like a small river going across the roundabout.

What is it like where you are?
Rained all day but we walked the dogs anyway. Just not as far as usual.

Oh Dear, It's usually me with the rotten weather. Apart from the freezing cold wind coming off the sea it's a nice sunny day up here.

Yep, I've been busy sorting the garden and greenhouse for the winter ahead. Even got the lawns a last cut yesterday. Just to clean up and put all the tools away in their proper places, my job for tomorrow.

Last night I could hear the wind going through the pylon which is on a hill less than half a mile away it was a high pitched whistling noise and the rain never stopped . Its rained all day and dark and grey and to make matters worse the blinking clocks go back tonight so gonna be darker tomorrow .

me and dad got drenched this morning just walking from the car to the supermarket door. It's chucked it down, been dark, dismal and dreary all flippin' day. I really don't like these kind of days.
