I'm thinking of having one done ..straight across my flat chest, saying .. This Way Up ... so they know which way to lay me in my coffin.

Swimmy, The perfect tattoo for you would be the words l associate with you.... ‘Such Is Life’. I’m not sure where on your body that it would be located... on your forearm or across your chest?

Or the word, ‘Littlies’ or your children’s names around your wrists.

If you are prepared to take the risks, do it. If it's really what you want. My girlfriend tattooed me with a tiny little one on my ankle when I was 15. It was a surfing thing. The girlfriend is so long gone but the tattoo has been there for 52 years. It's part of me.

Swimmy go for it mate is my opinion.

Why not instead of a Herring get a fox's tail just above the crack of your bum and if that looks good you can get the horse's and hounds afterwards chasing it.
That is a genuine tatt.

When I was 16 I got sloshed and did my own a couple of girlfriends names and a skull and cross bones. I admit I was stupid although I will say they still look good today and I never thought before I did them that they would be put on my police records..
