Goodness that must have been truly scary! And all that time to complete treatment, wow. I had a friend who had a wasp crawl up inside the plaster cast she had on her arm - a small gap had developed between her arm and the plaster, just enough for the wasp to crawl in. Needless to say, in its panic, it stung her and her arm began to swell.
She rushed to A&E to have the cast removed. Thankfully not a very long journey to hospital, only about 5 miles away, so she got there very quickly and got seen almost immediately when they realised the problem! Could have been a lot worse I guess...
