Re: What are you having for lunch/dinner?

If you'd mentioned it earlier I could have got there in time. Blow.

Re: What are you having for lunch/dinner?

We are having belly pork cooked in the 'swirly thing (sons name for it) so all the fat will be left behind leaving lovely crispy fat, tender meat and excellent crackling, served with extra creamy mash, sprouts, broccoli and cauli, with gravy for me, and maybe none for him (sometimes he wants sometimes not). Was considering a milk pud of some sort as we have a surplus but as we will not be eating until around 7.30/8ish thought would be a bit too much. Maybe tomorrow.

Meat eater is being a fish eater tonight and making his own dinner fish and chips. I am making a nut roast thingy for the vegetarians amongst us and little great niece will probably end up having a bit of both as making her mind up is never popular.

Julie - what are you doing with nuts? Always looking for new ideas.

I'm tossing leftover chicken, mushroom, peppers, onions, and rice together and see what I get.

Defrosted the other half of the Pork joint I bought several weeks ago yesterday and placed it in the slow cooker overnight. Poured cider over it and the smell emanating from my kitchen this morning is fabulous!!!!

Will peel and chop potato, parsnip and carrots later on, place in an oven dish and roast, together with the skin from the pork joint with which I will make some 'crackling'.

I did this recipe with out the chestnuts http://www.domesticsluttery.com/2010...-nut-loaf.html I replaced them with mushrooms.

It was very nice but possible would have been better with the chestnuts.

Re: What are you having for lunch/dinner?

For lunch, I've just had a jacket potato and beans. For dinner, I'm doing sole stuffed with prawns & mushrooms and cooked in white wine and cream.
Creamed pots and wilted baby leaf spinach to accompany it. Don't do puddings.
