I suspect that his poor mother has been trying to get rid of him for years, but when she sees how awful he is to true ladies, like you and I , she must have given up hope!

I suspected much the same. Given up in despair she had, told me that herself. Even tried raffling him at the W.I. but the winner brought him back next day.

Not I. I don't drink (not including the drop of sherry in the trifle) and drive, especially when I'm driving the Ancient Parent and an aunt around. Made do with orange juice and lemonade.

A nice buffet and good company - a good time was had by all, you would have liked it.
