I don't sweeten my tea of coffee (unless I have it with milk in, which is rare) but do love rhubarb so must have some sort of sweetener that doesn't interfere with my blood sugar. After trying many of them, I have discovered stevia based sweeteners are brilliant. They do not break down in cooking like, say, aspartame. They do not have a laxative effect (with me, anyway) unlike, say, the violent xylitol.Re: Sweeteners

My lunch box that I took to school when I was between 8 and 11 years old, contained 'golden syrup' butties...I believe that my Mum thought that it was giving me energy, whereas I've now got type 2 Diabetes...
