Re: Holidays 2011
Now Oscar the pup is a little more sensible we are getting the caravan back out of storage and we've booked for a few days in early July at Castleton in the Peak District of Derbyshire. It is only around 30 miles away but you could well be on a different planet from a landscape point of view. It is one of our favourite places and we are eagerly looking forward to it....Re: Holidays 2011
Castleton is a very interesting village Barry, although it sometimes gets a bit busy. There are a lot of lovely places in the Peaks well worth a look. My particular favourites to walk round are Alton/Youlgreave, Bradford Dale and Lathkill Dale. My husband Brian is very fond of Birchover and Stanton-in-the Peak.Re: Holidays 2011
Barry there are some great places to visit in the Peak District, have a look at this http://www.derbyshireuk.net/derbyshire_attractions.htmlRe: Holidays 2011
Have enjoyed a very relaxing holiday in Puerto Pollensa, Majorca. The weather was a tad too hot for me-mid to high nineties, but not complaining, just found it hard work sitting under a palm tree in the shade with a good book and listening to the lapping of the sea!!!! Not a lot has changed there, although did notice that 3 of the large hotels had closed, and it seemed to be a lot quieter than last time I was there. Finished off my 'absence of leave' by spending a few days in Derbyshire at my Brothers then coming home yesterday with the Hatti girl. Now it's back to reality....Re: Holidays 2011
