Re: Should I get a maid?

The title of the topic was interesting but it all went down hill from there...

Re: Should I get a maid?

Ask your GP/ Local Council about help from social services as you are ill. Or organisations like Age UK, may well be able to offer advice.

Otherwise accept the fact it will get done when you are able. This is the route i went down.

Re: Should I get a maid?

We recently had a cleaner in. She worked very hard and did a good job. She came recommended by some professional carers that we know but the cleaning service also advertise locally.

I think local companies or people who advertise cleaning services are most often going to be OK. It's just that television programmes exposing those who aren't have tended to make us wary of all of them. Any who are CRB checked should be OK.

Can I just say something, no offence meant here but....it would probably be better to refer to them as a cleaner and not a maid. As an ex cleaner/housekeeper I would have been pretty offended to be referred to as a maid, it implies servitude
Nicol, When l saw the word ‘Maid’ I thought the same. Servile, curtsying and uniform.

Re: Should I get a maid?

I was almost tempted to ask how you know that ... then thought ... no ... your private life is your own affair.
