Yes its what UJ no doubt visualizes as an 'unmarried mother'
Many mothers are unmarried these days they have their children and may never marry their partner.
In some ways they are better off not married .

When I was in my other life with partner we often went to help those in need be they neighbours or friends as we felt we could and it seemed right , sadly I've seen the other side of the coin and realised that some others think and act differently.
Yes, I can relate to this too Susan

Well that was certainly true in my area.

Re: Do We Live In A 'I'm Alright Jack' Society?

I don't think we do at all. You need only look at charities like children in need and Red Nose Day for instance and the myriad of other charities. It takes volunteers with dedication and commitment to continually raise money and give their time to help others.

In my area there are constant appeals to raise money for individual children who have life threatening illnesses.

We also have a food bank and some of the larger supermarkets are drop off points for food donations.

Maybe some are cynical or live in a bubble but there are plenty of people out there who do care about their fellow man and there is plenty evidence of it.

I don't get the whole food bank thing. A nice box for customers to donate food stuff yet the supermarket throws all that food away every week.
