Let's forget the £100, what if you found a bag containing £30,000? I knew someone that did just that. It was dropped by the bank security guards and he found it in the road. He did hand it in and I think he got something like £5,000 reward.

There is absolutely no way that I would do anything other than take it home. Not a chance in hell.

But how could you spend it nowadays with money laundering laws and stuff? Its not like you could just stroll into the bank and make a deposit!

Pre Covid, Costa the coffee shop people gave away money they used to have a cup of money on the counter for some reason, it didn't say help yourself but it was bad skills not to.

Actually for something around 30k one probably could. It's not as if it's a lot of money after all.

I think the way it works is that you report it to the police. They log it if nobody claims within five days or so it's yours for keeps. I'm sure this happened to me years ago and they told me nothing had been reported and told me to wait for a call if no call then keep it.

You could give it away to various charities or homeless people. It really depends on how much you need it.
