This was just ONE Tory but with the title of your thread you paint us all the same

Also and I am sure Steve didn't mean it like it sounded ordinary working people have enough education to sort the chaff from the wheat too and know when they are being treated badly. It's rather patronising of him to say we don't

Spot and.. I don't sneer at Labour because of people like Prescott.

As far as I remember he belted someone that threw stuff at him not that he belted someone cos they wouldn't listen to him .

I see nothing wrong with belting someone if they won't listen to reason .

He should turn the other cheek!! He has plenty to turn..

Anyway politicians shouldn't react that way, still think he's a thug.

Have to agree I always expect our MPs to uphold the laws so belting anyone should be off the menu.

Mind you Patsy, I thought he wrote a very good article in yesterdays paper about fox hunting. He said:

" I was proud to vote for the Hunting Act in 2004 to prevent the brutal killing of foxes to satisfy the blood lust of a few brainless toffs.
Despite 80% of the public and the majority of MP's being against relaxing the ban, this government is considering amending the law to replace the current limit of two dogs to flush out a wild animal.
A vote to bring back fox hunting could happen as early as this week.
It's no surprise to find Owen Paterson, the so-called Environment Sec. floating out a proposal on hunting. this is the man whose incompetence led to the inept response to the floods and who bodged the badger cull.
The reason made for killing the badgers was the fear of them spreading bovine TB to cattle. The only reason for amending the fox hunting ban is to give pleasure to a bunch of ruddy-faced toffee-nosed twits."

Mups - I do like people that speak their mind and not play act to please.
So, he gains a point there - bit of a mixed up kid in some respects though ...
