Re: At What Point Do You Suddenly Become An Old Person?

I had my first child at the age of 29, and was referred to by the midwives as an 'elderly primagravida'.

I felt really offended by the use of the term 'elderly'! So it is all relative!

(For the uninitiated..... primagravida is the term for someone having their first baby, and at the time, 29 was considered a bit 'old' to be having a first baby, hence the 'elderly' term.

Dunno if it's been changed since then, given that so many women have their children later these days).

Probably true, Longdogs.

My personal definition is when you begin to fail to see the fun in life and just start grumbling about everything.

Re: At What Point Do You Suddenly Become An Old Person?

I am sure most of us don’t really feel any different to how we felt when we were younger.
I am wondering if it is younger people’s perception of us and because we are of a certain age, they put the label on us?

I don't 'pull' birds, I use a blow torch to burn off their feathers.
