Yes matey, BUT I'm not advocating a change to the system they have in Italy. If we change our MPs into DELEGATES, not Representatives as of now, then those DELEGATES are mandated to vote according to the wishes of their respective constituents. This will have the effect of weakening the 'Party' whips control over them. However, the rest of the reforms I have advocated is also an essential pre-requisite too.

Unfortunately it also means that your government is selected by less than 15% of the population (probably not an unfair assumption since most results I have seen published indicate that the winner was elected with far less than 50% of the votes cast - a major weakness of the first past the post vote)

That fact alone is not likely to instil much confidence in their competency.
