That was my take on it at the time and I felt furious with the parents for leaving such very young children alone all so that they could go out and have dinner with their friends. If you have children, they have to come first and sorry, your socialising goes on hold until you can afford a babysitter, get someone trusted to babysit or they are old enough to be left on their own.

Shame on them.

They enjoyed their holidays Kal, children in Creche while 'they' played .....
The sickening thing too - is that they played tennis, the day after Madeleine disappeared

None of it felt right at the time Pats. A thread was started on the BBC forums and, of course, I had my say - and got blasted for it. I stand by what I said back then - I don't think they killed her but I do think maybe she had a fatal accident and they wanted to protect their careers first maybe - not sure if doctors can retain their position if they were to be found guilty of neglect.

Re: Madeleine McCann

I've no idea, I stopped watching and reading the news about that poor little girl - I couldn't do anything to help and, due to anger, I didn't want to know any further details.

I find it unfathomable how parents can just go out for dinner and leave their children unattended - it beggars belief.

Re: Madeleine McCann

I know exactly what you mean, I get very emotional with cases like this and I can only take so much. I stopped reading the evidence gathered, for that reason and its sickening that they have not been fully investigated by our police .....

That is something else I don't understand. I hope that justice is served one way or the other though.

Re: Madeleine McCann

Absolutely everything about the McCann case stinks and has done from day one. Now this 'reconstruction' which apparently was filmed some months ago in, can you believe, Spain. When the PJ wanted to do a reconstruction the Mccanns refused, but much later did one filmed by their good friend John Corner, using actors, which was a dismal disaster. This latest one I believe is to distract attention from the case in Portugal where the Mccanns are hoping to gain a million against Mr Amaral. The case is not going well for them hence now is the time to drag out the 'reconstruction, again using actors.

As for the British police dealing with the case in Portugal, no they cannot do this. They can only assist the Portuguese police if the Portuguese police allow them too. All this latest 'get us back in the news' is, in my opinion, smoke and mirrors courtesy of their PR people and in their pockets press and media.

I did wonder why it was suddenly back in the news.

Do you have any idea how they are able to do this? If they are only GPs, how have they got so much pull?

Something many people would like to know also but other than Gerry McCann being on a government Comer committee no, I don't know. However they seemed to have a great many high profile people in their connections, high enough to ensure that the statements of the two Gasper doctors were ignored and the statement of the Irish family, the Smiths, who saw a man carrying a child and thought it was Gerry McCann! All very odd isn't it?
