I'd love to smuggle in 93 Kalashnikovs and a pallet of hand grenades to those poor men. Then we'll see what's what.

What evidence has been produced in what court ?

Where has this data been published ?

Of course, it is not remotely possible that any of these blokes have information which the Yanks would never, ever wish to have made public ?
That couldn't possibly be one reason for their illegal, immoral and inhumane confinement ?

Muddy simply "knows" that they are all "dangerous terrorists".
All of the detainees were called the 'worst of the worst' by Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld - all proven liars.

Those British and Australians (and others) who have been released do not seem to fit that label.

Re: Guantanamo

Australia can have them then .
Send them to Nauru with all the rest of the people imprisoned there -men women and children .
People who haven't actually committed any crime but trying to make a life in Australia.

Re: Guantanamo

Hi

If Obama manages to close the place I will be happy.

The problem is, that in spite of all those who think that all the inmates are totally innocent and should be released, many of the Governments of their own Countries where they could be returned to do not consider them whiter than white and will kill them on their return.

That is why some of them are refusing to leave, and there are great problems finding other Countries to take them.

It is right mess, yet another legacy of Bush Junior.

You see now Pumice, this is so ****** typical of you. We are talking about the lives of nearly a thousand men, who have been detained without charge and tortured by an illegal entity. So illegal in fact that it isn't even allowed on American soil proper. And there you sit demanding proof of their guilt. What an idealist you are! I'll bet you believe democracy is a good idea too! You exasperate me beyond description!

But he's right, these people have been detained illegally without adequate legal representation, and tortured contrary to their human rights. If they are/were guily of an illegal act, then try them and let a properly constituted court and jury determine their guilt or innocence according to law.

What do you mean "but", Joe. wasn't my ridicule of his antagonist obvious enough?

Re: Guantanamo

But they are not there now and have not been for a long while.

There are 91 remaining.
