Just to prove that I can be serious if I have to...
I had an Aortic heart valve replacement done in year 2000 due to a heart murmur (leaky heart valve).
That was a bovine valve and they last around 15 years.
They had been keeping an eye on that one with a view to replacing it, when out of the blue I developed an Aortic Root Aneurism. The Aorta was dilated to 9cm and in danger of splitting open at any time. They only just caught it before it did.
At that 11 hour operation they repaired the Aneurism and replaced the Aortic valve with another bovine one.
After all, you can't beat a bit of Bully !
