I would suggest that "
those" would be precious few.
I know of
one University of Queensland researcher who has raised it as a
hypothetical.
Would welcome any
evidence that support for such a program is anywhere approaching widespread.
The fact is that even the
sale of dog meat in Australia is illegal, let alone
export.
And it's pretty hard to see the Australian Federal Parliament enacting legislation which would permit it.
Would hardly be a vote-winner.
That said - and
here we go - numbers of
pure dingoes in Aus are decreasing whilst the overall number which have crossed with domestic/feral dogs is increasing.
And becoming a major threat to commercial cattle, sheep, goats, fowls etc.
As well as to
native wildlife.
Not as bad as cats - but still.
IF those cross-breeds could be targetted without endangering the purebreds, quite frankly, I would have little problem with an export industry.
Meat is meat. Billions of Asians need to be fed.
And more of our native and commercial stocks might survive.
