Anyone who grew up in the East End of London would have known a battle axe or two. I don't think they exist there these days though.

He's OK, May.
I miss him too, so enquired yesterday.
He said he's had to deal with some stuff at home which needed his full attention, but he's fine.

He's not in a huff, so we're still stuck with him.

My mother in law was a big woman, she used to work with the local blacksmith.
She used to hold the horses upside down while he put the shoes on.


I not sure if that was a Les Dawson joke or someone else's.

My mother in law is a big woman. She got run over last week. The driver said he had enough room to get around her, but he didn't know if he had enough petrol.

Here's the one I love best....I always know when the mother in law is coming to stay; the mice throw themselves on the traps!!
