Re: My Week.

A nasty painful infection - often associated with diabetes. They are supposed to treat it immediately it is diagnosed!

Hope they sort it for you soon, Swimmy.

Swim, I know this complaint is awful and can be fatal, so why have you not been taken into hospital and put on an antibiotic drip? Where this doesn't clear the infection, the majority of patients this happen to are diabetic, have AIDS or HIV or their immune system is compromised, often from Chemotherapy.Have they checked you for these problems?

Now I am going to tell you off! This ear infection started quite a while ago and I seem to recall that, because you don't like your hospital, you often posted that you knew better than they did....which probably means that you didn't always do as you were told.
If you really hate the hospital ask to be transferred to another one... which you are allowed to do, and then do as they tell you!
Sympathy from us won't help your condition, or save your life.... but doctors may be able to!

Re: My Week.

Hi

I went to the doctors !st week in December.

I have had 4 different antibiotics and 2 different ear drops and steroids.

First week in March, my GP referred me for an urgent ENT Appointment, she said it would be within a week.

Unfortunately that was not the case and in spite of my GP urging them to see me, I did not get an appointment until the end of April.

It was only then that I was diagnosed with Malignant OT.

I do not have diabetes, Aids, HIV or anything else.

What I do have is a nasty antibiotic resistant bacterial infection.

My immune system is compromised at the moment, stress and lack of sleep.

This is also the cause of my high blood pressure, I am quite simply very run down.

Well only the doctors can deal with the infection but, if you are so run down, total rest would help a lot. I know you enjoy having the pretend grandchildren & their family over, but when they are there you seem to do more than is good for you.
When I had a severe chest infection 14 years ago, I was told to stay in bed, not allowed to go to work and, with nobody to care for me at that time, I spent 6 weeks watching TV and only getting out of bed to get food or go to the loo. Since then, I have always made sure that I rest and put my health above anything else because the rest really helped.... my doctor told me so!

I remember you saying you could drive again now, and that you were getting your "Fit to Fly" in May.

Can't remember where you said you were going with Guy now, but I know you said you'd already booked it.
Wasn't it trekking? I wondered at the time if that wasn't a bit adventuruous!

Will you be able to get a refund if you don't go?
Also, is Guy well enough now to go trekking, as well as yourself?

Re: My Week.

Hi

The NHS is a mess locally.

I cannot speak for others.

Total rest is not an option, I need to exercise to improve my health.

Exercise on Prescription has been recommended.

I have been totally open and honest about my health on here.

The different outcomes and effects are purely due to the NHS advice.

I see a number of different Doctors and Specialists.

The one thing they have in common is that they do not take time to read my notes and get my history.

I am told one thing, act on it, then told something different on my next visit, which is invariably with a different Doctor.

This is the state of the NHS at the moment.

A GP appointment is a Months wait here, and that is for 10 minutes.

I have simply posted, what I have been advised, which is often contradictory, but that is the NHS locally.

I will not be criticised for my honesty.

Re: My Week.

You are right to blame the NHS Swim, because any doctor that tells you to exercise when you have such a severe infection is a fool! Exercise can be done when the infection has been cleared.
The doctor isn't always right, that is why I challenge opinions I disagree with, and it is rare that they can offer a good reason to prove me wrong. I have spent many years questioning doctors on their ideas and treatments, because I have always had a strong interest in healthcare....I just didn't like the hours they worked
I don't know why you think anyone is questioning your honesty all I have seen is sympathy and good advice.

Blimey mate that's not good news. Those anti-bios will have destroyed your internal gut flora and left you weak and vulnerable.

You can clear up an ear infection in no time at all with a little GSE - Grapefruit Seed Extract mixed with a little water or oil.
No anti-bios needed.

You have my sympathies, you appear to be on the conveyor belt of pills, potions and treatments.
