Worried that the lady would harm herself, my daughter rang the police. She was asked if she was sure that it was a baseball bat and my daughter said, yes, it was.
Next thing, a police riot van and police cars arrived with police in full riot gear including helmets and shields. Some were even changing into their gear in the street.

At the end of her story, l asked how ‘old’, was the old lady?
Her reply, ‘Fifties or Sixties’!
Aye!!!! I said, if that’s ‘old’, then l am really ancient!!

So l ask, what do you consider to be ‘old’ ?
I would say, over 100. Even then some at that age can seem younger than those that are younger than them!!
What happened to the not that old lady, does anyone know?

The age don't matter as a number, when you can't get out your comfy chair without assistance from your arms, accompanied by a near silent groan, you are old, don't matter if you pass for 25 visually.

"Old" is always older than you are.

There is no 'old' on a forum because it's a meeting of minds and thoughts, rather than a physical meeting where we can judge each other's age.

I'm 85 and I'm as old as I feel. Trouble is I'm too old to do that these days.

Re: What Age Do You Class As ‘Old’?

I don't think age is a significant factor in being 'old' . I know many fit people in their 80s.
My neighbour is very fit and active and the same age as myself (72), she even has a younger boyfriend.

I feel very old with a body failing in many ways, my quality of life has certainty deteriorated recently in spite of my fighting hard to stay healthy .

I think 'old' is the number of years we have lived but I also think it's possible to be fit and old, or at least have a level of fitness that's good for our age.

Re: What Age Do You Class As ‘Old’?

For those who asked... this is what happened next...

The ‘old’ lady was not taken away on the night she smashed all her windows with a baseball bat. Instead, she now sits on the steps outside her place. My daughter who goes to work at around 7am, said she was out sitting on the steps then.

A nice neighbour with a dog had stopped to talk to her. The next thing the ‘old’ lady was screaming out the C word at the lady with the dog!
She then started to beat her own head with her fists and shouted out more obscenities!
The lady with the dog walked on.... l hope she checked there was no glass where her dog was walking.
