Re: Will You Ditch Your Mask When Covid Restrictions Are Lifted?

I will wait and see when I am out and about, if I feel the need to put one on. If in a local shop, and there are no other customers I might leave it off. I will keep one in my shirt pocket and wear it if I remember, or in larger stores, with more customers about.

I too always have steamed up glasses, and have to lift it to breathe fresh air every now and then, so would welcome the chance not to.

So what about you? Will you be relieved to ditch the mask, or will you still wear one to safeguard your health?
I understood wearing a mask was more for the protection of other people, it prevents transmission from yourself to others. Protection of yourself from others is, apparently, very limited.

Yes, I will be very relieved at no longer having to wear a mask, not too sure whether or not I will do this immediately restrictions on wearing masks are lifted though.

I have the same problem Pauline, usually in the supermarket trying to get round as quickly as possible to get away from that environment. Halfway round my hurrying causes anxiety, plus the lack of oxygen gets to me, then my angina starts. I have a GTN spray and use that but before this works it's not very pleasant, leaning on the trolley after taking the mask off, but being unable to continue for a short while. The other day this happened at the checkout, that was even worse as I was holding up a queue of shoppers!

I will still wear my masks for the forthcoming future until I absolutely sure it is safe.

Don’t ever worry about a queue of shoppers Baz, they can go to another till...you stay put and don’t rush, I have seen service users with angina...not nice..you take care, we don’t want you having another heart attack.

I still get palpitations, which stop me in my tracks, we keep soldiering on though....sorry Art..off topic.

Re: Will You Ditch Your Mask When Covid Restrictions Are Lifted?

I'm giving way to the poor old bank robbers.

They haven't been able to get Masks for quite a while.

I heard that they are, almost, going out of business.

I'm going to give them all of mine.

I want to get back to understanding what's being said, to being able to see another's facial expressions, to when my Great Grandchildren could see who I was!

Bring it on!

That Delta variant will already be in the process of possibly changing is structure as time passes with each new host infected. If they remained constant, there would be no need to change the influenza vaccine formulation from year to year.

Re: Will You Ditch Your Mask When Covid Restrictions Are Lifted?

can't remember if I commented already on this thread but if I haven't, I fully intend on wearing my masks in crowded areas always and onwards. I have no idea if masks are the reason, but, I haven't had a single cough or cold in all the time since I've been wearing them so if it is the slightest chance that is the reason then yes I will continue wearing. I regularly caught coughs/colds/chest infections and even pneumonia before so it's been wonderful not to get poorly this past almost 2 years.

Re: Will You Ditch Your Mask When Covid Restrictions Are Lifted?

Personally I refuse to live in fear, covid is something that will be around forever now so we all will have to come to terms with it in our own way, and I condemn no-one for whatever decision they make in how they achieve that.
