Good morning scribblers.The last time I caught a train it had transmogrified into a bus, and one without toilet facilities to boot.
Even though I had only consumed a moderate quantity of beer that evening, there was no way I could make it home on a journey twice as long by road without a bog.
When I enquired about this change I was repeatedly told, it's on our web site. Big flippin' deal. It wasn't mentioned when I got on the train at my home station, or at any point on route, and not everybody has access to the wonderweb anyway.
I spent a cold hour and a half on the station draining the beer I had rented as often as needed until I thought I could make the return journey on the last bus out of the big city. Even then it was touch and go, but the bus driver was a good egg and made an unofficial stop as near to Fruitcake Folly as he could get away with.
Mafeking was relieved.
It has fair put me off doing the trip again lest I find myself in the same predicament. I think I should carry a small resealable vessel with me next time, just in case.
