Re: Staying put.

I would stress your intention of employing an independent professional as you are now confused by 3 different findings/opinions and that this has given you reason to doubt any decision on works needed to correct this problem, who's to say which one, if any, is the correct report and therefore is the report the insurance choose to follow correct?

Tell them you hold them responsible for any Costs incurred by you in the attempt to qualify what's needed to rectify this problem.

Re: Staying put.

Personally, I'd phone them tomorrow(do you have a claim handler as a point of contact?)stressing your anger and upset, tell them it's making you ill(believe me, this can help no end)and you're depressed now.

Tell them they have 7 days to give a satisfactory response to your highlighted concerns and if this is not received you will be employing an independent professional on the 8th March

Re: Staying put.

I wasn't going to phone them Tpin, because I have no record or proof of what they say to me.
However, this morning they have phoned me.
We were on the phone for 35 mins while I listed all their errors.
He actually apologised and admitted they have made mistakes! I wonder if he would have admitted that in writing.

I told him I am phoning them in a fortnight for a progress report. I will not wait another month to hear.

Yes, unfortunately it is still dragging on Patsy. Driving me nuts it is. I'm afraid I gave him 'what-for' on the phone this morning.
He told me he would update me in a one month's time, and I said no he won't - I said I intend to ring him in two weeks for a progress report.
He did apologise quite profusely, but I want actions, not words. x

Re: Staying put.

It has got more serious now. It is with the ombudsman as from yesterday.
I feel I've been patient long enough.

I have 4 huge oak trees in my garden all with TPO's on them.We got legal advice and a tree surgeons report before we had any work done

There well may be a possibility of removing the beech tree providing it is replaced with another of a certain age. I went into what can and can't be done with trees with TPO's on them and well worth checking with a solicitor after getting a tree surgeons report. If a tree is considered to be dangerous to the general public is one reason or rotten or branches overhanging gardens , then work can be carried out on them. If the local council refuse any permissions sought there are appeal proceedures one can take.

You've done the right thing, this should move them(hopefully).

What did the ombudsman say when you rang? Assuming you did ring them.

They are building some houses and a 'resource centre' -whatever that is - round the corner from me, and they got permission to remove 8 trees with TPO's on them so far, and I believe there are a few more in line for the chop as well, so it can be done.
