Re: What are you having for lunch/dinner?

Trimmings? Please be more specific. What are trimmings?

For Saturday's meal I had steamed salmon, glazed asparagus and Hollandaise sauce which would probably make a decent starter for most folk, but was good enough for me as a main meal.

However, a couple of hours later I made some onion and leek soup for my supper which I had with a slice of buttered brown bread.

Well Mollie, Susie J had stated that they had had roast gammon, and all the trimmings, hence my comment that here in Wales we refer to Christmas decorations as 'trimmings', thus conjuring up all sorts of images.

Tomorrow, well technically later today, we are having roast pork, roast spuds, and for veggies some adorable teeny tiny cauliflowers and broccolis I spotted in Asda, plus steamed leeks and for my son a spoonful or two of sweet corn. Followed by the pancakes we never got around to having on Tuesday as we were out, with chocolate spread and banana for him, bog standard lemon with canderel for me.

Full Sunday roast for me - with (trimmings) = roast tatties, roast parsnips, roast onion, roast carrots and perhaps a steamed leek and gravy. For 'pudding' I have rhubarb and Apple crumble with some custard.
