Re: Your Christmas poems
Pagan Yuletide
The Sun’s arc holds fast,
Twelve days in the sky,
Time to feast,
Think of times gone by.
The wheel of the year,
Turns full circle again,
Hopes of Spring,
Once Winter is slain.
Lanterns in trees,
Against evil, defend,
Wassail and cider,
Time for quarrels to end.
Leaves of green,
Berries white,
Eyes that sparkle,
By candle light.
Friendship and family,
Betrothed hand in hand,
Bright cheeks of children,
All through the land.
The Yule log is lit,
Twelve days shall it burn,
Eyes on the sun’s shadow,
Wait for the season to turn.
White Goddess, the Mother,
Brings forth the new Sun.
Winter is beaten,
The battle is won.
... and my favourite lines from the Wiccan Rede,
"Merry meet and merry part,
Bright the cheeks and warm the heart."
