Re: Update on Pixie

Okay Marian and Jimmy. Have added your names as well now.

Yes, she was terrified of waking up with the breathing tube so I'm glad she won't have to go through the trauma of that.

Re: Update on Pixie

Now it would be perfect if she couldn't hear the ticking of the mechanical valve .... I hope it's the sort of thing you get accustomed to and no longer notice after a bit.

Re: Update on Pixie

Somebody recently likened the ticking of the mechanical valve to the crocodile in Peter Pan, so I do hope she gets used to it.

The mechanical is likely to last about 15 years, whereas an animal one would last about eight years.

Will do Merz. I'll be sticking the envelope down at midnight and will post it tomorrow.

You're all very welcome and, when she can get back online and sees this thread, she'll be delighted to have had so many wonderful comments and positive thoughts for her.

Re: Update on Pixie

This is the card I got. Not the prettiest as my local shop has limited stock and were mostly Christmas cards. Apologies for the hand-writing, but mine isn't as good since the stroke.
