Oh thank god for that, otherwise it would start an outcry!

Re: Mr , Mrs, miss and now mx

I have done away with Sir/madam.
My emails start with

Hi,
I would like to....etc etc

Do you think that is too rude?

Always found "Oi you" works, no chance of causing gender confusion or offence. As for Mx just another word my poor overloaded brain is expected to store, the database is full and the noggin is well nogged.

Yes I can see were your friend coming from , if one has choice to live like a woman , she will want every thing as much they can to been seen as a woman included Mrs or miss ,

Re: Mr , Mrs, miss and now mx

I don't believe anyone should have a label. I feel that mx in a way down grades the person in the eyes of others. It certainly lets others know that he is different if they see it on paperwork or called out by it at a surgery etc. To me everyone is equal. Mr or Mrs is respectful. I do not think MX is.

Absolutely agree...if you say it out loud it sounds like it's short for mixture, really denigrating and insulting.
In fact I wonder where this came from and whether its a big fat WIND UP
