Re: Cilla Black

One of the more poignant tributes has come from Dionne Warwick: "Saddened to hear that my friendly foe has made her transition. My sincere condolences to her family. The heavenly choir will add another rich full voice."

do we know if she was ill. ,last time I saw her on TV she looked great , young and vibrant , would have expected with her vitality a long life .

part of my past and growing up . enjoyed her music when young.

she had a fab life , fab husband , fab career .

I read it was natural causes, in her sleep. The best way to go.

Re: Cilla Black

A shock for sure. I liked her and her singing. Wonderful down to earth old timer that fame didn't seem to alter. Not many left now.

Re: Cilla Black

So very sad, she has gone far too young, she was the same age as I am.
RIP Cilla Black.

Re: Cilla Black

Very shocked it was so totally unexpected.
And whatever she said about not wanting to live beyond 75 I thought that was a strange comment for this day and age...
I don't think you're old in your 70s by any means.
She seemed so full of life, I can't quite believe it.

Re: Cilla Black

Ruthio, she had arthritis and hearing problems, and I believe her comments may have been made some time ago along the lines of not wanting to become a drain on society, or not wanting to live beyond 75 IF she was to be a drain. I need to check that out.

.
We only see the 'public face' of people. I heard on the radio a couple of years ago that CB struggled with pain caused by arthritis and the frustrations of deafness. If I was in constant pain I would not want to go on indefinitely.

Re: Cilla Black

I liked Cilla's singing. The recent TV drama about her was good, but IMHO did not capture the distinctive tone to her voice

One of last night's TV reports about her said that before she had a full range of songs written for her she used to sing 'Fever'
I'd like to have heard that
