not sure if I agree - I understand that pressure waves are emitted and transmitted but doesn't the human ear drum have to change this into 'sound'? and secondly if we placed a tape-recorder in the forest could this pick up the waves tranfered into sound?Re: Leisurely Scribbles part 2

the simple question WAS - "does a tree crashing with no human around make a 'sound' "- you have just stated it your self NO SOUND AS SUCH but a felt WAVE - waves are different from sounds and anyway what about the other questions - you moribund?
