Re: Wild flowers

A wild morning glory, taken in Florida but there are the same ones here in Michigan

For 45 years we milked purebred Holsteins, 85 of them. 12 of them made world records for production, many state records.
We grew corn, wheat, soybeans and hay, lots of hay! I milked, fed calves did a lot of tractor work in the fields and then the book work, the worst job of all. Cows were sold in 1993 and the land was broken into 10 acre parcels and sold the following year. 10 acres with the house and some barns were kept. My grandson purchased it from me but promised me I could always live here. I have a bedroom and bathroom, called Gram's apartment. Jer is my grandson and he has Hereford cows, 4 of them with 2 calves. He also has 3 Quarter horses used to team rope at rodeos.

Re: Wild flowers

I went out for a couple of hours, had a lunch and went to the pond. Saw the wild hedge roses and took a few photos of them. Winter was so cold here that all the roses in the yard died or are struggling to restart. Tried to count the goslings at the pond..give or take a bunch, around 75 young ones.

Re: Wild flowers

What fabulous pictures Shirley Marie, especially the wild Morning Glory, it's very much like our 'Bindweed', I took some photo's of it today but have not downloaded yet, but I will post them.

This is the Spearwort, a lovely plant of damp and marshy habitat.

You are quite right Lilac, but which one I haven't got a clue, they are very difficult to individually recognise...
