Re: What have you done today to make you feel good?
Well, I think I made a little old lady feel good....
I was at the garden centre buying some bulbs. I dropped the bulbs at the till, so kept a lady waiting who was behind me.
So I smiled and said something silly, as I do.
She was one of those 'cold' types, heavily made up and full of that 'I've got money' touch.
She was not amused being kept waiting.
When I went outside there was this delightful elderly lady, who was quite small, but looking really mischievous with her finger in her mouth and leaning on her stick.
(Actually I thought this could be our Mups years on with the look the lady had in her eyes and her finger in her mouth, waiting to get up to mischief
).
Anyway, I couldn't resist going up to her and saying she looked like she was about to do something mischievous.
She laughed and took my hand saying she was 99 years of age. She was just one of those people you get drawn to.
Anyway, we had a giggle and I remarked that she didn't look her age.
Then a voice said...'Oh, hello again'.
Yes, it was THAT sourpuss woman behind me at the till. She looked at me as if I was muck.
The elderly lady said 'This is my daughter'.
So I said to sourpuss 'Your mother was just telling me she is 99 years of age!'
Sourpuss said 'Tut, of course you aren't 99 mother, you're only 93'.
The lady looked at me with a sad little smile. So I gave her a hug and she said thank you with a look that seemed to say 'here we go again'.
Her daughter obviously didn't like her and thought her a pain to be endured.
I hoped I took the tension away a little for the lovely old dear.
(PS If you read this Mupsy, it's a compliment, honest
)
