Re: Madeleine McCann

Well it sounded like everyone who talked about it so I assumed you meant all of us.

Re: Madeleine McCann

I have only read what people have voiced as their opinion.

I haven't called anyone bitter or twisted or the likes. I've certainly made it clear I don't understand some people's opinions, but some just don't get that we ALL have the right to an opinion without being made to feel like freaks of nature.

One thing that irritates me on this thread is why some people throw the old "no compassion" chestnut. No one could be more compassionate than me.

Re: Madeleine McCann

quote Meg "I don't think they really need a lot of twisted people and gossips with nothing better to do adding to their misery" unquote

Are you saying that if we donīt believe the McCanns that we are bitter and twisted gossips?

I assure you I am neither bitter nor twisted neither am I stupid. I have no sympathy whatsoever for the McCann parents, but I have much sympathy for their little girl. Enough said.

I see that some of the bile is now being directed at those of us who do not blame anyone but simply see a tragic situation for all concerned.
A recurring theme is the fact that the McCanns were not poor people, anyone who is a professional seems to be a target for derision and general dislike even when there is no tragedy going on.
Where does that dislike come from, bitterness and resentment?
That also breeds blame and hatred.
Sent out the ill will for long enough and it may come right back.

If you see what I wrote there as bile time to sit back from forum life I think. I have never been accused of being bitter, resenting people, deriding professionals, twisted etc in my life before but what I wrote was bile ?

Re: Madeleine McCann

Julie I see you as a person who has principles and someone who is responsible and caring too TBH for the record, I like your posts and you seem a fair person which makes it all the more puzzling. It's sad if you believe that professionals or those who have enough money are somehow less deserving or that this is why the McCanns are so disliked.
A lot of people are saying they should be prosecuted for neglect, if that's so myself and thousands of others should too. The courts would need to go all day every day with parents who have had a meal in hotels, while children are sleeping.
There is no evidence that these parents are murderers, that is pure fabrication and speculation mainly by the less savoury media who love a major story for obvious reasons.
The speculation is the equivalent of gossip, embellished and padded out until the parents are no less than murderers according to whats published.
The problem is that it can sound very convincing and people end up believing what is written and surmised, not just this story but stories we see every day.
There are parents who are murderers and there have been some horrible examples, but at the very least I believe we should not see someone as a murderer unless they have had a fair trial, otherwise it's trial by media and speculation.

Re: Madeleine McCann

That wasn't what I was saying when I mentioned they had money it's quite the opposite I see inequalities when people who have very little lose a child they are vilified far more and very little seems to be done to help them unlike this couple. I also think how Maddie looked has played a big part she was a pretty young girl, try the same but with a less pretty child and you would not have people still all these years later have people looking for her. It's harsh but the world we live in. Also I say again if they had not brought them selves to attention again (seeking money again) we would not be talking about them.

It doesn't matter if they have money or not, anyone who leaves their children alone in an apartment in a foreign country while they go out drinking are not fit parents in my opinion.

My point exactly. These countries encourage children into restaurants and bars for god sake! There's no excuse. It beggars belief.
