This is true...but I think its a huge learning curve for many people (even younger folks), and maybe requires more patience than some can give to it! Especially when things go wrong and they assume its broken now

Aw - it's good to hear from you Maisie. You're an inspiration to a lot of people.

Sorry you're in hospital again. I hope they're treating you well...

Yes I can understand elderly folk thinking they have broken something if it does not go right but many are afraid of it.
I am lucky I have had a computer for over 20 years and also a WW2 website.

My Noggin seems to have kept items from eight and a half decades ago.

It tends to pull them all out at unwanted times, or misses out important dates, facts ,etc.
Me too.

That's a logical explanation for what happens to most of us - well certainly to me - as we grow older.

I tend to forget some recent things (to Marge's exasperation!) - because my brain is full!

Yet I remember things from decades ago, and even my childhood - because they are occupying the space in my brain and leaving little space for anything new.

It all makes perfect sense!

I should write a paper on it.

Maybe at a certain age our brains need 'defragging' or perhaps
a 'factory reset' would do the trick for most of us!

Learning is also part of growing and maturing as a person.

You never stop learning.

I suspect you are trying to 'factory re-set' your brain.

Unfortunately, banging your head on the cupboard door doesn't work like that!

I think I am learning by how much it hurts, obviously it didn’t hurt enough.

I’ve learnt not to rush down the stairs, that took a while...not until I missed the bottom two steps and landed badly....never done it again,

I would say we all learn differently....

It is not only continuous learning if you don't know how things were in the past.
