Maybe similarly to the catchphrase in the Bond film he would be "Shaken AND stirred" ...

Not in my home - I abhor bad table manners

Re: People watching gross

I'm afraid if I'm on my own..
I'm a plate or (worse) box on my lap and eat with a fork or chopsticks!

When I'm entertaining ..I'm dead posh then though

Believe it or not when I was first on my own I would set the table, out of habit, then have my meal while watching television, afterwards I would clear it all away again. One day I suddenly realised what a waste of time all that was. From then on it was 'TV dinners' on a tray, so much easier for one than all that previous rigmarole!

Yes - I do, Dongles. Properly laid with place mats, serving dishes etc., and definitely no TV/DVD/Mobile phones!

ST, I do exactly the same. I am a real stickler about eating meals.

I could not eat a meal off a tray whilst watching television.
How can you digest your food properly whilst bent over with one eye on the tv and the gravy dripping down your front!
How can you even savour your food, if your concentration is elsewhere?
To me, that must be like going to a petrol station to refuel!

I brought my children up to sit around the table to eat a meal, to hold a knife and fork properly. No stretching across the table to get food and the television was definitely turned off.

No stockings whilst eating then.

Re: People watching gross

I'm guilty of having a meal in front of the TV especially if I'm eating alone....I'm amazed at myself really because when the kids were living at home I never allowed it.... I hate bad table manners.

Kids would laugh their socks off checking me out now

Re: People watching gross

My grandkids just love coming to my house because they are allowed to eat with a tray on their laps as we watch TV together

Not allowed at home with mum and dad but then at Nannys anything goes within reason
