Re: Driving Without Realizing

Good point ! I am not even sure we day dream while we drive, has that been proved ? I mean we may be driving perfectly well and just forget when we arrive - as we have no idea I would have thought someone would have investigated this phenomena !

Re: Driving Without Realizing

When drivers are absent-minded, it may for instance cause longer reaction times, less adequate observation of the
environment, and later and more abrupt braking. this could endanger the driver's safety and that of other road users.

Re: Driving Without Realizing

Its not really a situation of driving 1/2 asleep, being in a hypnotic state or deep in dreamland, it's hard to explain, it's a phenomenon like Julie said.

It's like you're aware of everything but when you get to your destination, you do wonder how you arrived so perfectly. I know I'm still not making sense.
Anyone else? Or perhaps this discussion has gone as far as it can go now.

Re: Driving Without Realizing

That said, driving in the city 'is' different from driving on county roads. And I always slow down for chipmunks, etc. I've even gotten out of the car to help the odd snapping turtle across the street!
