You're right about his support amongst the activists though and this in itself could damage the party. The more moderate members may decide to break away and form their own version of Labour mk2.
What, "New New" Labour, unlike the other Party's, Labour have ignored the Sandman for many decades.

Re: Labour-the fallout from the referendum.

Indeed. People may dislike Tony Blair but he was a brilliant politician and if he hadn't been forced out by Gordon Brown Labour may still have been in power. The principle that he grasped was that the majority of voters do not have sympathy with either extreme right or extreme left. They are either slightly left or slightly right, those were the voters he pitched successfully to.
The Conservatives understood that when they appointed David Cameron and he led them to power, admittedly the first time in coalition but eventually with a small majority

While Jeremy Corbyn remains leader his extreme left wing views will keep Labour out of power.

Yes he was a brilliant politician BUT

He saw the writing on the wall and gave Brown the poisoned Chalice, just before the crash.

If he had thought more about are country than his ego he just might have been up with the greats.

Re: Labour-the fallout from the referendum.

I don't think he gave Gordon brown the Poisoned Chalice so much as Brown demanded it, only he didn't know it was poisoned. he had been pressurising Tony Blair for years for him to step down and hand over power as they agreed. Tony Blair would have gone on if it hadn't been for Gordon's belligerence and bad tempered reminder for him to keep his promise.

Corbyn has confirmed that he will NOT stand down despite the advice from many of his own party members.

Do politicians NEVER do whats' right?

Good he is standing firm for the people who elected him, if he can get the support from the rank and file and I can't find anyone doesn't still support him he could rebuild the party to look like one that actually represents those who support it. Get rid of Blair and new labour finally.

Furthermore, the 'party' could dispose of those disloyal MPs by deselecting them as MPs either later this year or next.

A thorough purging and cleansing of the 'party', re-establishing its working class, 'socialist' soul.
