Oh come on! that is just not true.. That is a ridiculous thing to say. Britain couldn't feed itself during the second world war why do you suppose every vacant bit of land was turned to growing something?

There is just not the area of land to sustain the population never mind having land to house and transport them too.

According to the US Food and Agricultural Organization, the minimum amount of land needed for self-sustainable food in North America or Western Europe is 17 acres per person. This number assumes absolutely no land degradation, crop failures, or waste.

England has a population of 55 million and an area of 32 million acres

The maths does not work.

Hi

We cannot feed ourselves, we could not in WW2, even with the Land Army

.We will not change our eating habits, those who think we will are living in Fantasy Land.

We import cod and haddock, which is what we eat, we export a lot of oher fish because we do not eat them.

We export a third of every pig, simply because we do not eat those bits.

Life goes on, we are not going to change our habits because of Brexit.

It is the same with manufacturing, we are not suddenly going to manufacture mobiles, TVs etc or cars or lorries.

The Common Market was fine by me, made a lot of sense, the EU is very different which is why i wanted out,

If you mean that we aren't self sufficient then yes I agree. But England can and has always been able to feed itself through imports to support its farming, more and more of it coming from outside the EU.

Another point is that under the EU CAP a fair chunk of uk agriculture has been subsidised to keep it fallow. This is already changing.

The single market destroyed out manufacturing and fishing. Its because of that we are in the situation we are in now. Hence, Brexit

Just getting out of the EU will start that process, so that we can be ourselves and not just another member of a restrictive club ruled by bureaucracy.
