Re: What are you having for lunch/dinner?
how terrible boring all these English style dishes are!
I start my day each morn with a Thai style noodle soup with cooked prawns, broccolettes, florettes of cauliflower and varied asian spices. leave all in boiling water for a few minutes and then jump in. the prawns are peeled - de-veined and dipped in stinky shrimp paste. God it lifts the spirits
then for lunch I dip into a pat Krapao Moo Sap - a simple dish of pork mince, oyster sauce, fish sauce and fresh Thai basil all cooked in oil and pork stock - yummy
in the evening I go crazy with a blow ya mind Nasi Lemak - I'll let you check that one out but you do need to find the fresh pandan leaves for authenticity!
I do remember all those quaint English dishes - that's why I'm in the Oceanic region - hard to get a trad english dish here. However Victoria which is very victorian does have english dishes and even english old style pubs - all very fattening possibilities. Check out the "North Britain" very cosy with meals full of calories and good beers!
