Our house is a no-smoking zone too. Two of our children smoke, but they are happy to smoke outside. They both have friends who smoke indoors themselves and allow guests to do so, and hate the way their clothes stink when they have been visiting them.

Re: Do you allow people to smoke in your home?

I smoke and I don't give a rat's rear-end if people approve or not. For most of my life I have tended not to befriend non-smokers, no idea why, it just seldom happened and the few I did see now and again didn't seem to mind that the rest of us did smoke. Fortunately, I became reclusive before the ban (which didn't really affect me as I don't drink) and I would never agree to made to stand outside in all weathers. I wonder if people who are viciously anti-smoking refuse any medical help or benefits that have arisen from the billions of pounds excess from tobacco renevue?

Re: Do you allow people to smoke in your home?

I used to go to local pub for a natter and a puff,
we'd talk about the weather and who's the latest 'up the duff'
we'd sit in the saloon bar and chat 'n' laugh 'n' joke
but it's no fun at all now ;cos we're not allowed to smoke.

I like a ciggie with me drink, it helps me to relax-
well! sod'em too we'll all give up and they won't get their tax.
You'd think that all those 'Health Freaks'-
could find worthwhile things to do,
there's roads and health ( speaking of which, you'll need to join a queue)

I'm aware or all the 'nasties' in every cigarette
all I can say is in 50 years they haven't killed me yet.
So i'll carry on as usual with my nicotine infusions
and leave them that know better ,to draw their own conclusions.

I won't reproduce your post in a quote Maggis but I quite like that poem of yours - if there is a poetry corner on here, you should be posting in it (and let me know where it is - I'm still learning to navigate the site)

Re: Do you allow people to smoke in your home?

I don't smoke but was amused when we were invited to a party recently. The hosts were ex-smokers who had previously allowed guests to smoke but had declared the house a non-smoking one. Fair enough, their house, their decision.

They said it made the house smell bad. I didn't mention their cats already made the house smell foul. They didn't seem to notice that, most pet owners have no idea how much their houses smell to non pet owners.
