Re: Murder by Police - George Floyd

Trump was right in one thing in that video posted by Galty, ANTIFA are inflaming the situation. There's a video on Twitter with two such white thugs with covered up faces spraying BLM on properties and businesses with one black woman asking them to stop, pleas for which were ignored. The black lady said that if the cops see the graffiti, they will automatically think the crime was perpetrated by the black community and will be targetted accordingly.

Sadly, the video isn't available on YouTube (yet) and I can't post it from Twitter as the poster has limited access to his threads.

Re: Murder by Police - George Floyd

Positional asphyxia - cause of death .

This is common enough in Police circles to have guidelines issued about it

NYPD’s Guidelines to Preventing Deaths in Custody
■ As soon as the subject is handcuffed, get him off his stomach. Turn him on his side or place him in a seated position.
■ If he continues to struggle, do not sit on his back. Hold his legs down or wrap his legs with a strap.
■ Never tie the handcuffs to a leg or ankle restraint.
■ If required, get the suspect immediate medical attention.
■ Do not lay the person on his stomach during transport to a station house or hospital. Instead, place him in a seated position.
■ An officer should sit in the rear seat beside the suspect for observation and control.
The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has developed a training tape on positional asphyxia. The Department has agreed to make the tape available to interested law enforcement agencies. To request a complimentary copy, please send your written request on departmental letterhead, and a blank VHS tape, to the Deputy Commissioner of Training, NYPD, 235 East 20th Street, NY.

No. If an autopsy includes alcohol in the report it is always identified and the %age indicated.

And no, I'm not suggesting or implying that if you're drunk the police have carte blanche to kill.

Moreover I'm not a WUM, but in cases such as this info like to look beyond the headlines.

Just curious - how many times have you been summoned to serve on a jury?

There's no question that what the police officer did was wrong but if it was murder, that's a different matter.

Yes AD but note the word ‘ may’ .
Also ‘allegedly ‘
Nothing is actual evidence .
Toxicology results take many weeks to be posted .
Half the country has some underlying condition that they can live with for a life time but would be lethal if manhandled by some redneck kneeling on their neck.

Just as the case of the videos we can only go by what is leaked out.

Look, personally I believe that what is shown on the videos is pretty obviously outrageous actions by the police, but I'm not CONVINCED that Floyd was deliberately killed.

Having said that and based on a couple of encounters with the police, one in North Carolina and one in Florida I wouldn't put anything past them. For example in NC one got very tense when I wouldn't call him "sir".
