Re: Hurricane Ophelia

The sky here was a weird yellow and we also had the red sun. According to last night's BBC news - the red sun was caused by Ophelia bringing dust from the Saharah. Now, geography was never my best subject, but isn't Ophelia coming from the West and isn't the Saharah South East of here?
How does that work?

Anyway - it landed here late evening very powerful, very noisy, tossed things about a bit in the garden and upset the cats - they were prowling like caged tigers all night - but no major damage.

I hope everyone else is safe?

Re: Hurricane Ophelia

It's a bit blowy here in Yorkshire but no real damage that I know of, driving to Huddersfield later so hopefully I will make it back in one piece

Re: Hurricane Ophelia

No damage locally for me. Just saw a few leaves spiralling around yesterday but that was it.

Re: Hurricane Ophelia

We also had the red sun which looked amazing but later on in the morning it went very dark and the wind got up but no damage which was a blessing.

Re: Hurricane Ophelia

We got off lightly here in South West Devon as well. Very windy, but not dangerously so.

Re: Hurricane Ophelia

We got off lightly here, the 40-50 mph winds, which were forecast, didn't materialise so no damage here at all.
