Let's be clear.. The Slaves did NOT come to America voluntarily.. because they wanted to, but could not afford it.. They were captured like wild animals and loaded aboard slave ships and brought over to be auctioned off to the highest bidder... Very different... They were not indentured servants for a time. They were property for life.

You could look at 'African American' as being either African - american or a mixture of both ......
I won't be the least bit offended if people call me white and neither would I mind being called black brown green or any other colour I happen to be .
I think some people are too easily offended.

I remember my friend attended a social meeting at which there was an African Chieftan in his full tribal robes. After the meeting they had retired to the bar and my friend asked what he would like to drink , Guiness please the chief replied. Guiness ? my friend slightly surprised. Yea man was the response, it keep me nice and black and shiny !
