I too thought it was right wing, but left or right doesn't seem to come into it.
I found this (in dutch) on wikipedia. Is it me, or do I recognize brexiters in this?

The concept of fascism cannot be clearly defined. It is a complex and varied phenomenon that is difficult to describe briefly. Yet fascism has a number of basic characteristics that distinguish it from other political movements. These are:

1. Fascism is the opponent of both traditional left and right political parties. [4] [5]
2. Fascism despises contemporary conservative institutions. [4] [5] 3. Fascism honors display of force and the use of force, to the extent that it is aimed at the overthrow of the existing social order.
4. Fascism has an authoritarian structure, headed by a leader to whom charismatic traits are attributed.
5. Fascism strives for the establishment of a political dictatorship.
6. Fascism strives for a totalitarian state - complete control on social life and social and cultural organizations.
7. Fascism is extremely nationalistic.
8. Fascism argues for a continuous struggle for the survival of one's nation in the midst of other states.
9.Fascism rests primarily on the social middle class.
10. Fascism strives for social unity and the removal of all existing class and conflicts of interest.

It seems fascism can be whatever you want it to be. I don't want to be labelled a fascist for standing by my trusty Chambers definition.

My Chambers dictionary is a real book made of paper.

Still interesting to know you consider facism as coming from your left.

Hitler was a socialist remember.

For fascism you need socialism, racism and nationalism. It's not that hard to figure it out Solasch.

I've explained this already ... and I'm having to explain it to you again. Look at your points 10, 8, 7

And now he ticks three out of three.

The guy in the picture I posted is me, on one of the several times I've met and had conversations with Nigel Farage.

Nigel Farage is not a fascist at all. That title is reserved for you ... because your not only a fascist by my definition, you are also a fascist by your own

Only the politically ignorant put people in to a 'Left' 'Right' box.

These days most people's politics are fluid and contain aspects from both sides of the spectrum.

Labour found that out to their cost and embarassment.

Only the pseudo Fascist EU supporters can be classed as truly left wing authoritarians.

I've not seen socialism in any definition. Just an oppressive regime.
