stupid memory reminders

what stupid thing have you kept as a reminder of a certain event in your life

Me, a copper bottomed saucepan, this one

When Sue and I were saving hard to get our first house, getting things for it was a real struggle.

This saucepan is a reminder for me about the time we went to a sale In a shop called "Shinners " in Sutton SY high street.
It was a big departmental store at the time. Being the big winter sale this saucepan was up for sale at 50 pennies old money

We stood there arguing for 2 hours if we could afford it or not, Eventually as you see got it.

So now hanging up in the garage workshop as a reminder of those times and how hard it was

Oh I'm intrigued Tess! What did you need a gun licence for? (and don't say 'to shoot')

A friend bought it for me, he thought I could protect myself with it, (going through divorce at the time) I joined a gun club but I couldn't hit a barn door!
38 special snub nosed revolver I think it was, Astra. I'll try to find the photocopy.

What a lovely shiny pan.

I'd hang it up in the kitchen if it were mine.
